About the Rock Island 'Bankruptcy Blue Repaints' Paint Scheme:
In the late 1970s the Rock Island started renumbering and repainting their over 600 PS-2CD 4427 Covered Hoppers in blue paint. The cars were painted at different times and different locations so no two were alike. Car 508106 was shopped in 1978 at the Biddle Shops. Number 508133 was shopped at El Reno on May 1979. This car has THE ROCK placed slightly lower on the car side and has a black line under ROCK. 513217 was also shopped at the Biddle Shops in Little Rock, AR on January 0f 1979. Unlike the other two cars, this one was given the ROUTE ROCK badge.
