Press Release:
Amherst Railway Society and ExactRail Collaborate on 2011 Commemorative Car
West Springfield, MA and Orem, Utah (December 29, 2010) - The Amherst Railway Society and ExactRail announced today that their 2011 Commemorative Car will be available at the 2011 Show. The Railroad Hobby Show, which has grown to the largest of its kind in the country, will be held on January 29th and 30th, 2011. The Annual Commemorative car has grown in importance as the Show has continued to expand. Originally given to all participants who bring HO Scale Railroads to the Show, the car has grown to represent much more about the Show.
“Not only has the car been a gesture of thanks to folks in our Show,” said Alan Rice, Amherst Board Member, “It has become a symbol of participation, a keepsake that is rapidly becoming a collector’s item.” The car selection process has become quite a process in itself. “We keep trying to outdo ourselves every year,” says Show Director, John Sacerdote. “With the help of Alan’s artwork and a company as prestigious as ExactRail, it has been a pleasure.”
Popularity has grown so much with regard to “the annual car” that the Amherst Railway Society is offering the car in N-scale this year and well. “This is the first year that we have offered the same design in 2 scales,” added Alan Rice, “We have also ordered a few extra for our Company Store as our Show attendees have begun asking for them as well.” This will be the first time in its 9-year history that the “car” will be offered to Show attendees.
“ExactRail has been incredible to work with,” added Sacerdote. “They made the process a breeze, and what can I say about the quality…it’s ExactRail!” Blaine Hadfield, Vice President of Operations at ExactRail, explained, “The Amherst Railroad Hobby Show is one of the most exciting in the country. We are so pleased to have worked with Amherst Railway Society on this project. We have a bit more in store for the folks at Amherst, and we are looking forward to the Show this January.”
