Arriving fresh!
Beginning in 1977, Pacific Car and Foundry (PC&F) released a heavily insulated boxcar with internal, air-bag loading devices and 20" travel, sliding-sill under frame. These cars travel the country. Often originating from the Coors Brewery in Golden, CO., they are affectionately known as "Beer Cars" for the refreshing cargo they frequently carry.
About the Lamb Weston 1991 Repaint Paint Scheme:
In 1991, Lamb Weston acquired former Western Pacific PC&F insulated boxcars and converted them to a cryogenic cooling system. These would be used for the transport of frozen potato products that Lamb Weston is known for. This group of cars were numbered from XTRX 200 thru 242.
