'1979 As Delivered'
A Plate C for your IPD.
Mississippian Railway - '1979 As-Delivered' Paint Scheme:
The National Railway Utilization Corp. (NRUC) owned multiple railroads during the IPD era. Most of the 4,000 plus boxcars were delivered in the attractive bright blue scheme with the NRUC logo applied to a placard that was often mounted upon the door. The 50 cars (304000-304049) that were delivered under the Mississippian Railway were part of a larger 1,000 car order that ended up being canceled due to the collapse of the IPD era. The MISS cars as well as other NRUC cars were sold & sent to other owners across the country. Many were repainted but some lasted many years in their original paint.
