ExactRail HO Scale: PC&F Beer Car - Conrail 1977 'As-Delivered'
Arriving fresh!
Beginning in 1977, Pacific Car and Foundry (PC&F) released a heavily insulated boxcar with internal, air-bag loading devices and 20" travel, sliding-sill under frame. These cars travel the country. Often originating from the Coors Brewery in Golden, CO., they are affectionately known as "Beer Cars" for the refreshing cargo they frequently carry.
About the Conrail 1977 'As-Delivered' Paint Scheme:
In 1977, Conrail purchased 190 insulated boxcars built by Fruit Growers. These cars were numbered from 376001 to 366190 and were classed as B65A. According to the Conrail Color Guide to Freight Equipment, these were part of a pool to transport beer from the Coors brewery in Golden Colorado to distributors across the country. Our PC&F Beer Car model is a near match the Fruit Growers built car and would be a great fit for your layout.
