ExactRail HO Scale: PC&F Beer Car - Tropicana 1991 Repaint
Arriving fresh!
Beginning in 1977, Pacific Car and Foundry (PC&F) released a heavily insulated boxcar with internal, air-bag loading devices and 20" travel, sliding-sill under frame. These cars travel the country. Often originating from the Coors Brewery in Golden, CO., they are affectionately known as "Beer Cars" for the refreshing cargo they frequently carry.
About the Tropicana 1991 Repaint Paint Scheme:
In 1991 Tropicana acquired a group of second hand Pacific Car & Foundry (PC&F) built insulated boxcars from the Manufacturers Railway Co. These were re-painted and numbered from 2669-2749. In addition to repainting, a refrigeration unit was added to the underbody of the car. Major differences between our model and the prototype are different ends, side sill and narrower door. Our model makes a near match to the prototype and belongs in your modern juice train.
